Domestic na Kanojo (Manga)
Warning: This review is full of spoilers and it contains very spicy topics that it makes the Carolina Reaper, the world’s spiciest chili a joke.
Domestic Girlfriend or in Japanese, Domestic na Kanojo. This series is also known as Rascal Does Not Dream of Domestic Girlfriend Senpai, Shokugeki na Kanojo, Rent-A-Domestic Girlfriend or Natsuo’s Bizzare Adventure. Despite of all these names, I know this series as the “What are you doing stepbro?” anime/manga adaptation.
Okay so first of all, let me introduce to you the characters of this wonderful dumpster fire show.
Fujii Natsuo, the domestic boyfriend of the franchise. He is a full-time author. He won his first award when he was in 2nd year Highschool, the time when Hina Tachibana, his English teacher/Big Sister/Girlfriend/Wife dumped him. The novel is called “Well, See You”.
Tachibana Rui, one of the domestic girlfriends. You heard me folks, not just one but two. She is a great chef. She also had sex with Natsuo before they became siblings. Around the ending of the story, she got pregnant with Haruka because who would know that Daniela’s condom, the one Natsuo used when he went to New York is defective.
Tachibana Hina, one of the domestic girlfriends and Natsuo’s wife. She was an English teacher and also worked as a receptionist in a hotel. In the last chapters of the story, she got isekaid by car-kun. Damn that journalist, he ruined the show and made Hina a vegetable for several years.
Kobayashi Marie, the best boy of the show. When each of the characters has their own problem, they will go to L’amant, the restaurant owned by Marie. Here he will share his opinions, tips and his past as well to the characters so that they could have an idea how to solve their current problems. He was also part of the mafia and supposedly, the next leader.
Fumiya, also can be considered as the best boy. He is also a pervert by the way… and he has so many porn mags… especially about older woman that wears doctor uniforms. He is a lawyer and currently hitting on one of the older woman in L’amant (I forgot her name). He always pull Natsuo up when he is very down because of his problems.
Momo, one of Natsuo’s ex-lovers and highschool friends. Momo helped us to receive fanservice such as lending one of her panties to Rui and she accidentally fell, revealing the panties. She always doing something on Miu.
Ashihara Miu, one of Natsuo’s highschool friends. She has a crush on their club advisor/teacher, Kiriya-sensei or Hasukawa You. She is currently working as an editor of a publishing company.
Alex or Al, one of Natsuo’s rival and highschool friends. He is an English teacher and also likes to travel across the world. He is very cheerful. Also, he is one of those guys that will ride their bike on school, specifically on stairs. He is not very good on his alcohol because he will get drunked easily and starts doing something like kissing Natsuo and Kiriya, or kissing his classmate when he was in America, or doing something on Rui.
Barusu, the closet pervert. “Porn stash are not found, but made!” He is a writer. Hmmm, what could I say more about this guy?
There are also people like Juri, Serizawa Miyabi, Hana, The-Neighbor-that-is-also-known-as-Spider-Man and more but I would not go into more detailed introduction.
“It’s not like we’re blood-related or anything”
Okay, now let’s proceed on the “plot” of the story. The story started when Rui asked Natsuo to fuck her in her apartment. After a while, they would discover that Natsuo’s father and Rui’s mother would get married, making them stepsiblings. Later, Rui will fall inlove with Natsuo because he is very kind on her but Natsuo’s heart on the time wants to be with Hina. Natsuo tried kissing Hina but got caught by Rui. Some chapters later, they will stop Hina’s affair with Shu-san and she will bit by bits will realize her feeling with Natsuo. Also, Natsuo caught her masturbating... and after many chapters later, Natsuo will reveal that when he went to back to his room after he saw her, he also masturbated. As Gigguk says, I’ve never seen some chad dual-wielding incest and juggling with the other 2 girls.
Somewhere in the story, Natsuo went to Miu’s house but she told him to wait for 15 minutes because she will clean the house quickly so what he did is he went to the grocery and bought a box of condom. Also somewhere in the story, Natsuo also went to Momo’s condo to have sex with her because Momo noticed that Natsuo is down. When he went there, she decided not to fuck her with various reasons and instead, cooked dinner and eat it with her, yes they ate dinner, not Natsuo ate Momo okay. Going back to story, Natsuo and Rui succeeded to break off Hina’s affair with Shu. After a while, Rui casually asked Natsuo to kiss her because why not and every once in a while, they will start kissing out of nowhere. Whooohhh, where’s the milk? Where’s the goddamn milk, it’s starting to get spicy. Once when they are kissing, Hina went to the room and saw them kissing. I just noticed something, why they don’t lock their doors? Is the door’s lock broken or what? After that, Hina decided to move out of the house because that’s the time when she fully realized her feelings with Natsuo. Not knowing that, Natsuo and Rui thought that Hina is mad so during the festival, Natsuo tried talking with her and he doesn’t want her to move out. After that, Natsuo finally now have his first domestic girlfriend. Still, Hina decided to move out so that Natsuo and she will have their time alone.
After for a while during their school fieldtrip,
Natsuo bought a ring and gave it to Hina…and they kissed… and they had sex… twice at the same night… Many chapters later, the principal found out the student-teacher relationship with Natsuo and Hina and to protect Natsuo and for him to achieve his dreamas, Hina decided to dump him and move far away. Ofcourse it’s painful for the both of them. Natsuo thought that in order to move on, he will put all of his emotions to his writing. Rui also comforted Natsuo. Because of these things, Natsuo created his award winning novel, “Well, See You”. Also, Natsuo fell in love with Rui and now Natsuo has his 2nd domestic girlfriend. Now that I think of it, incest anime/manga will make you say wtf, but this series took it to the next level. Dual Wielding Incest x Student-Teacher Relationship x Girls that wants Natsuo’s seed x Best Ending. Where’s the milk again? WHERE’S THE MILK?! Where was I? Oh right, Natsuo and Rui became together.
After many chapters again, one of Kiriya-sensei’s novel will get the Silver Screen Treatment so the gang will go to the shooting location. Who would’ve thought that it’s the same place where Hina lived for a while. Natsuo found Hina’s apartment and Hina said mean words to Natsuo so that he will forget her and to go back to where the rest are. The next day, since Natsuo left his phone to Hina’s apartment for unknown reasons, Hina decided to return it and after a while, they parted ways. Natsuo also returned the ring Hina gave to him during their last date.
After many chapters again, Fumiya asked Natsuo to hide his porn mags for him since his relatives are staying in their house. Since Natsuo don’t know what to do, he called Al to take the porn mags with him. For some reasons, Al went back home and brought his porn DVDs and stated that if Rui found the porn goodies, it would be okay because the actresses are somewhat looked like her. Ofcourse Natsuo got mad. “We need to make some sacrifices”. Natsuo called his juniors, Barusu and Momo’s future husband for some reason I forgot his name, to take all of this porns mags and stuffs with them. He also told them that they are freely to browse it whatsoever. Here comes this boy, Barusu. “A comrade in need is a comrade indeed”. Barusu took the DVDs and some of the porn mags with him. The future husband- wait let me google his name real quick… Ritsu Osaka or Rikkun, who will casually fuck Momo in the forest later in the series, took the remaining porn mags with him. Along the way, he saw Momo and panicked and decided to return to Natsuo’s house. Since no one could able to hide those porn mags, they decided to make a fire out of it and cook some sweet potatoes. Hail the porn mags that made the sweet potatoes more delicious and sweet.
Sometime later, Hina decided to celebrate the New Year with Natsuo and the family. Rui is out because she is currently having her two weeks training. Hina stated that she wants to quit teaching and wants to live back there again. New Year passed and Barusu returned the remaining porn mags back to Natsuo. Who would’ve thought that these porn mags will make Hina have a misunderstanding since the porn mags are about teachers. When Hina was about to leave, she gave Natsuo a letter indicating wait for her. 3 months later, Hina moved back to their place, Natsuo and Rui graduated Highschool, Rikkun and Momo are now together, our boy Al supports Natsuo and Rui, and Barusu is still a pervert. A lot of things happened since then, Natsuo went to College. I will not get into when he is in preparatory school since it’s not very spicy compared to the things I will get into later on. Some chapters later, we will see why this series is also called Shokugeki na Kanojo. In order to Rui’s mom acknowledge that Rui will start to work in her Dad’s restaurant. Rui cooked Italian food and when she failed she will get expelled from Totsuki. The time for dessert came in, it’s the final dish that will decide what will happen to Rui. At first, her mom doesn’t want to eat it for various reasons but Hibiki or Biki came in and snapped at her. Rui’s dad came in and explained that the reason for their divorced is not because of affair but because of debt. After some flashbacks, Mom decided to eat it and Rui became the 1st seat hooray. Going back to Natsuo, he moved to his new apartment, met his wonderful and mysterious neighbor that will appear out of nowhere, he will also meet Hazuki the one he will rent later in the series. Also in college, there will be girls that will crave for his seed, like Serizawa Miyabi and Netty the slut. Along the way a lot of things happened, Natsuo became a scriptwriter of the club, Rui broked up with him, got stabbed by a stalker of Hina and that time he got reincarnated as a slime, he published his first book, after for a while he hit his writer’s block, became an actor, met a drug-user girl, Togen-sensei died, he continued his final work and overcame writer’s block.
Now we will get into the last chapters of the show. Natsuo and Al came to New York and helped Rui. Rui bit by bits regained her taste. After that Natsuo fucked Rui and wore a defective condom. Rui later came back to Japan, and declared that she is pregnant. Her mom ofcourse can’t accept it at first but with some talk no jutsu, she got convinced. When the time they are preparing the wedding, Sasuga Kei, the author decided to introduced dick the journalist that later will try to expose to Natsuo but with the help of Kiriya-sensei and Hina-chan, they succeeded to break his plans. Because of that, Dick-kun hit Hina-chan with his car and now, Hina is in a vegetative state. Natsuo and Rui discovered Hina’s sacrifices and Rui decided to call off the wedding since Hina is much more deserving to marry Natsuo. Hina stayed as a vegetable for several years and Haruka was born. Haruka put the ring to Hina’s finger and she woke up. Hina started to talk after half a year and finally could walk after 3 years. Then Hina married Natsuo and Natsuo wrote a story based on Hina’s experience and it was called Domestic na Kanojo.
Overall, Domestic na Kanojo was a fun ride but no one can deny that it’s ending is such a waste.
