Rent-A-Girlfriend, or Kanojo,Okarishimasu in Japanese. Kanokari is about Kazuya Kinoshita renting a rental girlfriend because he can.

After finishing the anime, I immediately read the manga and caught up to chapter 168 within two days. After reading, I reflected about the story and I thought, “Wait a minute, was there even a story?”
Welcome to Saiba Akira’s trash reviews and what I will be reviewing this time is Rent-A-Story.
The only arc that I remember in this manga is the Movie Arc and after that, everything went downhill.
The Movie arc finished in around chapter 160 something and after that, each chapter is the same. Kazuya says he will confess and then later there will someone interrupt his confession and that will drag on for 12 pages and the last chap will be something of a cliffhanger and he will say again that he will confess the next chapter and repeat. It was so dragged out that I dropped it. The only good things in this manga are Mizuhara and Sumi and even Mizuhara was ruined by the story and writing. Sumi was forgotten and never appeared in the series for like, 100 chapters or more.
Enough of the so-called story. Let’s move on the characters:
Kazuya Kinoshita, the MASTERbaiter and the client of Mizuhara. The “story” started when Kazuya Kinoshita was dumped by a trash bag (the irony) and decided to rent a girlfriend because beating his meat with the picture of the trash bag appears that it isn’t enough. The only thing I could think of this guy is in around chapter 169, he went to the convenience store and bought fucking 5 boxes of tissues. How come you need 5 boxes of tissues in beating your fucking meat? If that’s your average tissue usage, how come your arms are thin as heck? Shouldn’t atleast one of them is buffed as hell? What the fuck Kazuya.
Chizuru Mizuhara, the rental girlfriend and also the heroine of the series. She’s great at first but at the manga keeps going on, she started to become worse.
Trash Bag aka Mami. Wow, I think comparing Mami to a trash bag is a disgrace for the latter, oh well. Scummami bag is the antagonist of the show. She is fucking annoying. She is not a great antagonist if you would ask me. What derives her to do all of this shit is because of a petty reason. From what I remember, she still has somewhat feelings with this walking cum shooter where many tissues suffered aka Kazuya.
Blue haired Ruka, she was formerly a rental girlfriend like Mizuhara. The reason she quitted was when she met Kazuya. According to her, her heart never beat so fast until she met Kazuya. Of course my heart would race to when I’m besides a pervert like him.
Sumi, the best girl. When Kazuya have problems, Sumi will help him even she struggles speaking no matter what.
Yaemori Mini, the forgotten second best girl of the series. After the movie arc, she didn’t appear ever again. What a shame, if she’s still in the series she will find a way for Kazuya to confess to Mizuhara. RIP Wingman
Kibe, the best friend. He is a good friend, he would help Kazuya if he has problems and he knows that Kazuya is a good guy.
Now, what do I think of the series? If it has better writing I could enjoy it more. Also, don’t dragged the series so much. If it keeps up, at this rate Kanokari might have cancelled by its publishing company.
